By downloading or using the Andronix app, the Andronix installer or the andronix.app website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms, so please read them carefully before using the Service.
You may not copy or modify the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way. You may not attempt to extract the source code of the app, translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions of it. The app itself, and all trademarks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights related to it, belong to Andronix. Where a component of the Service is published under an open-source licence, that licence governs your use of that component. The Andronix installer is open source under the MIT licence (github.com/AndronixApp/andronix).
Andronix is committed to making the app as useful and efficient as possible. For that reason, we reserve the right to make changes to the app or to charge for its services at any time and for any reason. We will never charge you for the app or its services without making it very clear exactly what you are paying for.
The Andronix app stores and processes personal data that you have provided to us in order to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. It is your responsibility to keep your phone and access to the app secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. Doing so could make your phone vulnerable to malware, viruses and malicious programs, compromise your phone's security features, and mean that the Andronix app does not work properly or at all.
Accounts
Some features, including purchases, require an Andronix account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app or by email, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Purchases
All purchases are made inside the Andronix Android app through Google Play Billing, and are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. We do not sell anything through andronix.app or any other channel. The following products are available:
- Andronix Premium: a one-time purchase that gives a lower price on the Modded Pass, early access to new Modded OS editions and beta installers, higher Modded OS download limits, and an optional listing on the supporters wall.
- Modded Pass: a one-time purchase that unlocks every Modded OS 2.0 edition on general release, including editions released later.
- Modded OS edition: a one-time purchase that unlocks a single Modded OS 2.0 edition.
- Andronix Complete: a one-time purchase that includes Andronix Premium and the Modded Pass.
Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy, in your local currency and including any applicable taxes. The price you pay is the price shown in Google Play at the time of purchase.
None of these products is a subscription. Each purchase is linked to the Andronix account you are signed in to when you buy it. You can restore it on any device by signing in to the same account. Purchases cannot be transferred to another account.
Users who purchased the Classic Modded OS editions before Andronix 2.0 continue to have access to those editions free of charge.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, access to the purchased item is removed.
Termux and third-party software
Andronix does not bundle or distribute Termux. Termux is a separate, third-party app that you install from F-Droid, GitHub or Google Play, and your use of it is governed by its own licence and terms. Andronix is not affiliated with the Termux project.
The Linux distributions, desktop environments and other software you install through Andronix are developed by third parties and are provided under their own licences. You are responsible for complying with those licences.
Third-party services
The Service uses third-party services that declare their own terms and conditions:
- Google Play Services and Google Play Billing
- Firebase
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics
- OneSignal
Limitations
There are certain things that Andronix cannot take responsibility for. Some functions of the app and the installer require an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider, but Andronix cannot take responsibility for the Service not working at full functionality if you do not have access to Wi-Fi and have no data allowance left.
If you use the Service outside an area with Wi-Fi, the terms of your agreement with your mobile network provider still apply. As a result, your mobile provider may charge you for data used while accessing the Service, or other third-party charges. By using the Service, you accept responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the Service outside your home territory (that is, your region or country) without turning off data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you use the Service, we assume that you have received permission from the bill payer to use it.
Similarly, Andronix cannot always take responsibility for the way you use the app. For example, you need to make sure that your device stays charged. If it runs out of battery and you cannot turn it on to use the Service, Andronix cannot accept responsibility.
Although we try to keep the Service updated and correct at all times, we rely on third parties to provide some information and software to us so that we can make it available to you. Andronix accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying wholly on this functionality of the Service.
Updates and termination
We may wish to update the app. The app is currently available on Android, and the system requirements (for Android and for any other systems we extend availability to) may change. You will need to download updates if you want to keep using the app. Andronix does not promise that it will always update the app so that it is relevant to you or works with the Android version installed on your device. However, you agree to accept updates to the app when they are offered to you.
We may also stop providing the app, and may terminate your use of it at any time without giving notice of termination to you. Unless we tell you otherwise, upon any termination, (a) the rights and licences granted to you in these terms will end; and (b) you must stop using the app and, if needed, delete it from your device.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Andronix in compliance with all applicable laws. Andronix must not be used for unauthorised access to computer systems, network attacks, distribution of malware, or any other unlawful activity. Andronix runs Linux distributions in a sandboxed environment and is intended for learning, development and other lawful purposes only. You are solely responsible for how you use the software and any tools you install within it.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Andronix. You must be at least 18 years old (or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian) to make any purchase through Andronix.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You agree that the courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with your use of Andronix.
